I have 2 gig’s in Southport coming up; a celebration of the music of Tom Jobim at Southport Jazz festival on the 4th Feb, with an amazing 7 piece band and loads of original arrangements. Also I’m playing solo at Dobbies on the 29th March, merging the music of Jobim with the equally wonderful Duke Ellington......a bit of an odd mix some would say but that’s half the fun!

One of our resident Manchester greats - Brian Smith is celebrating his 80th Birthday on Feb 5th at Wilmslow Con Club. I will be there to toast him (not literally!) along with Vinnie and Dave and no doubt Graham Brook will have plenty of funny and inappropriate anecdotes to add to proceedings. I’m also there on April 23rd with trombonist Suzanne Fonseca who I’ve never met before but have heard great thing’s about.
