What with the euro being such a mess and gig’s always seeming to clash with flight times I’ve decided to explore as much of the UK as possible. And I must say this little island can be surprisingly exotic when you venture out of the living Lowry painting that’s Manchester. I did swim in the sea here at Holkham in October, and tho rather bracing suffered no hypothermia or fecal poisoning!

Parr St, Jam Night

A great night had by all at Parr St, Liverpool. If you live in the area, I highly recommend you check it out, the atmosphere is brilliant. The night’s led by beautiful sax player Geni Lamb, with a great house band and lovely ale. What more could you want?

Scotland

I’ve just been on my hols, chose Scotland...silly girl! It rained almost all the time but I got one good day....see above. This is Sanna beach, the sand really is that white!! And it was actually quite warm, and so peacefull. Really want to go back now.......

Southport Jazz Festival 2011

Our weekend of gigs at Southport Jazz festival started off by Rioghnach bringing a massive spider into the car on the way over which caused absolute mayhem, followed by tantrums, followed by a near crash . Somehow we arrived in one piece no thanks to the hairy hitch-hiker who’d scurried off into some crevice and put the fear of god into me anytime I had to drive anywhere for the next few weeks. A shot of vodka each later and we were ready to play and all was forgiven, but not forgot!

Manchester Jazz Festival 2010

Big up all you Manchester Jazz Festival goers!! Thanks for a very enjoyable gig. Of course it rained but bless your soggy cotton socks you remembered your brollies and no-one abandoned us. I felt a bit responsible though ‘cause it was dry till we played Monsoon!! I’m also very impressed that you were up for a sing song, even in the rain, Kelly did us proud with the lyric cards (above), check out the dead pan expression........deep, deep concentration.
